The students of the Lincoln County R-III School District will become the next generation of families, leaders, business owners and residents of our great community. That’s exactly why our District stresses the importance of meeting students’ academic, social, and emotional needs both within and out of the classroom. Through educational opportunities that teach students about their emotional intelligence and innate strengths, we promote both the academic and emotional success of each student.
Read more about the DESSA strength-based screener. The screener is administered three times a year to serve as a universal screener of social and emotional competencies. Small groups focused on specific skills identified as opportunities are provided for students identified through the screener. Parents are notified of small group opportunities prior to their child’s participation.

Many of our schools focus on a monthly character education trait and definition. While each character education trait is carefully selected, each campus has the autonomy to decide how to best incorporate the monthly trait into everyday life at their school. The most important part of character education is that we promote a culture, in which our students can learn and grow, that is intentionally inclusive, caring, safe, and responsive for our students.
